Nicolas Cage has revealed in an interview why he canceled roles in “Lord of the Rings” and “The Matrix”.

Nicolas Cage (58) has in an interview with the US magazine “People” revealed that he apparently could have starred in two blockbusters, but canceled the roles. “There is no version of Nic Cage that hasn’t put family over career. I turned down Lord of the Rings and I turned down The Matrix because I didn’t want to go to New Zealand for three years or Australia for three years “, explained the actor. Instead, he wanted to be home with his son Weston.

He will be a father for the third time

Cage is currently expecting children with his wife Riko Shibata (27) for the first time. He already has two sons, Kal-El (16) and Weston (31), from previous relationships. Cage will soon be back on the big screen: In “Massive Talent” (theatrical release: April 21, 2022), Cage plays a fictionalized version of himself who accepts an embarrassing job due to acute financial difficulties. For a million dollars he should appear as a star guest at his biggest fan’s birthday party, played by “The Mandalorian” mime Pedro Pascal (47).
