Nightingale: the ambitious action game from BioWare alumni postponed, but it will move to Unreal Engine 5

From its revelation to Game Awards 2021, Nightingale had caught the eye of many players thanks to its concept combining FPScooperation, survival, craft and battles against giant monsters. It has also aroused interest by the fact that it is the first title ofInflection Gamesstudio led by Aaryn Flynn and alumni of BioWaresince acquired by Tencent.

Project appearances have been rare, but enticing, and the game was last reported still on track to release in Early Access before the end of 2022. Unfortunately, it will not escape its postponement, like almost all the games of the moment, and Inflection Games now plans to launch theEarly Access on PC in the first half of 2023. This additional development time will allow them to fine-tune the experience, and above all to transit serenely towards Unreal Engine 5where the team was currently working on EU4.

Realmwalkers,

We have made the difficult decision to postpone the early access release of Nightingale to the first half of 2023. We will have more news on the specific schedule at a later stage.

The postponement is based on two considerations: the first is an upgrade to Unreal Engine 5. After reviewing the potential of UE5, we have decided to upgrade now rather than wait until after release.

Second, Inflexion Games is committed to delivering the best possible experience and delivering on the promise of what the Nightingale Kingdoms universe has to offer players. To achieve this, the extra time will allow the team to make key improvements, strengthen content, and polish gameplay.

In the coming weeks, you will hear more game and development news from the team. Until then, we thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for what we do. It may take a little longer for the mystical Fae portals to open, but we thank you for taking this journey with us.

Nightingale will only be better at launch and few players should complain about it.
