Nissan accelerates on the solid battery

It was in Japan that Nissan recently unveiled its new prototype solid-state battery plant. This is located within the Nissan Research Center in Kanagawa Prefecture, and promises to contribute to the development of solid-state batteries that Nissan aims to bring to market in 2028.

Indeed, the Japanese brand plans to launch a 100% electric vehicle equipped with solid batteries developed in-house by the financial year 2028. According to Nissan: “ the solid battery should be a revolutionary technology to boost the spread of electric vehicles “.

The solid-state battery offers a triple advantage compared to a conventional lithium-ion battery, namely an energy density approximately twice as high, a significantly shorter charging time thanks to superior charge / discharge performance, not to mention a lower cost. thanks to the possibility of using less expensive materials. Nissan is planning to use these batteries in many models, including pick-ups.
