Olivier Véran calls for the vigilance of grandparents as All Saints' Day approaches

As the All Saints holidays approach, the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran sent a message of vigilance to families on Thursday, October 8.

The holidays are a sign of relaxation but the pandemic, meanwhile, continues to rage in France. Lille, Lyon, Saint-Etienne and Grenoble have thus passed into the maximum alert zone. This Thursday, October 8, during a press conference, the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran calls for the “responsibility” of all. "When I say that every French person can act against the spread of the virus, it is because we must be vigilant at all times of our daily life. It is difficult, it is a permanent effort. (…) The sick who are now in intensive care, were infected two weeks ago by people who did not themselves know that they were contagious " alert the minister.

He also sent a message to families who wish to reunite, especially with grandparents and their grandchildren."If you want to receive friends, even if you receive your family, your children, your grandchildren, you have to keep distance. You have to wear the mask and be extremely careful around you.", insists the Minister of Health. "Unfortunately, it happens to happen upon a person who was contagious without knowing it and to find oneself, a few days or a few weeks later, in the hospital."

To avoid contagion, it is strongly recommended to keep a safe distance from your loved ones or to wear a mask when the distance cannot be respected.
