Ubisoft and Limited Run Games will soon offer a very extensive collector’s edition for pre-order to celebrate the anniversary of one of its most iconic games.
The offer will be available from April 19 to May 19 for a Ubisoft game released in April 2013. You may have guessed, we are of course talking about Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, the standalone spin-off that charted with brilliantly your own way! We’ll unpack it all for you.
Blood Dragon, this collector’s game from Ubisoft
With the release of Far Cry 3 in 2012, Ubisoft offered us an open-world FPS that was much more convincing than a lackluster second part in Africa. The French giant hit the nail on the head with its Blood Dragon spin-off, a revisit of the base game with a completely crazy cyberpunk twist. This standalone DLC was so successful that it is still considered one of the studio’s greatest games today. It was even entitled to an adaptation on Netflix with the excellent animated series Captain Laserhawk.
And that’s a good thing, since Blood Dragon celebrates its 11th anniversary in April. To mark the occasion, Ubisoft is teaming up with Limited Run Games to offer a collector’s edition not bitten by dragons. This appears to be superbly well stocked. Here is the detail of what it offers:
- A physical version of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon (PC, PS4 or Xbox One)
- A collector’s box transforming into a figurine game set
- The soundtrack in a USB stick in cassette form
- A VHS with trailers and promotional videos
- Colonel Sloan figurine
- Sergeant Rex Colt figurine
- A sheet of stickers
- A booklet
- A leaflet displaying an artwork
A collector’s edition worth its price?
Fans wanting to grab the collector’s edition of Ubisoft’s iconic title will be able to do so on the Limited Run Games website from April 19 to May 19. This is priced at $124.99 (approximately the price of the second edition of a certain Star Wars Outlaws). The lucky ones who managed to pre-order it should receive it in September.
It is also possible to order only the physical version of Blood Dragon on Limited Run Games. In this case you will have to choose between the PC, PS4 or Xbox One version. The PC version, however, is priced at $49.99, compared to $34.99 for the PS4 and Xbox One versions. The purchase of this physical version will be open at the same time as pre-orders for the collector’s edition. If you are fans of Blood Dragon, don’t miss one or the other opportunity.
