Ora Funky Cat: Controversial electric car now 12,000 euros cheaper

ELECTRIC CAR

“It looks like a beetle” – this sentence is often heard in connection with the GWM Ora 03 aka Funky Cat. The price of the electric car drops by a whopping 12,000 euros.

The prices of some electric cars are currently plummeting – this also has to do with the loss of state funding, which became known shortly before the end of 2023. In addition to models like the VW ID.4 (8,000 euros below the list price) or the Polestar 2 (Innovation Boost), the Ora 03 is now also available cheaper because the Chinese manufacturer GWM (Great Wall Motors) is offering its own “electric bonus”.

And although the appearance of the electric car can be debated, this bonus is quite generous at 12,000 euros. The basic version of the Funky Cat is available from 26,990 euros. The better equipped variant 300 Pro is available at a price starting at 28,980 euros. The top version called GT is available starting at 37,490 euros. According to the manufacturer, the discount will be granted until March 31, 2024 and only applies to vehicles that are directly available.

The range of the 4.24 meter long and 126 kW Ora is 310 kilometers (WLTP) with a 49 kWh battery. The battery used in the 300 Pro and 400 Pro variants with a capacity of 63 kWh delivers a range of up to 420 kilometers. You can find further information here from the manufacturer.

No matter which version you choose, the manufacturer GWM offers a five-year, unlimited mileage guarantee on the Funky Cat. The battery comes with an eight-year warranty.
