Who is driving for Germany to the ESC final in Great Britain? That should be decided on March 3 on the show “Our Song for Liverpool”.

Who can represent Germany in this year’s final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Great Britain? That should be decided in the show “Eurovision Song Contest 2023 – Our Song for Liverpool”. The first broadcasts the German ESC preliminary round on March 3rd from 10:20 p.m. live from Cologne. Barbara Schöneberger (48) moderates the show, according to a press release.

Who can take part in the ESC preliminary round?

The ESC editors – a team of experts from the music industry, the German ESC delegation, the international ESC world and ARD pop radio stations – decide in advance who is allowed to compete in the preliminary round. How many music acts will be there is currently still open. Anyone who has applied via the TikTok platform and wins the voting that takes place there (from January 27 to February 3) is directly involved in the preliminary decision. Alina Stiegler and Stefan Spiegel will present the result of the voting live on February 4 at 6 p.m eurovision.de.

In addition to the broadcast in the first, the show for the preliminary decision on March 3rd can be seen live on eurovision.de and in the ARD media library, where the warm-up starts at 9:20 p.m. In addition, TikTok will accompany the preliminary decision with backstage videos.

The winner of the ESC preliminary round will represent Germany in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest on May 13, 2023 in Liverpool. The first broadcasts the final of the music competition from 9 p.m.

The music competition will take place in England, although Kalush Orchestra actually won the ESC in Turin for the Ukraine with “Stefania”. Due to the Ukraine war, the Reference Group, the board of the ESC, had stated “that given the current circumstances, the security and operational guarantees required for a broadcaster to host, organize and produce the Eurovision Song Contest in accordance with the ESC rules , cannot be given”.
