Panda on TF1: a season 2 for the series with Julien Doré?

TF1 is broadcasting the last episodes of the first season of Panda this evening. It now remains to be seen whether the series with Julien Doré and Ophélia Kolb will be entitled to a season 2…

Worn by Julien Doré and Ophélia Kolb, Panda follows the adventures of Victor Pandaloni, a former cop with a cool attitude who runs a small hut in a remote corner of the Camargue. But this perfect little cocoon of peace and serenity bursts the day his old life comes knocking.

Panda then finds himself forced to return to service with Lola, a police officer far from being as zen as him. This duo, as ill-matched as they are complementary, will then resolve the investigations in an unexpected way.

Broadcast every Thursday on TF1, the program has established itself as a real success. And with an average of 5.5 million viewers at its launch on November 30, this crazy police comedy has become the television event of the end of the year.

As the season ends with the broadcast of the last two parts tonight at 9:10 p.m., can fans hope for a season 2?

A SEASON 2 ALREADY BEING WRITTEN

According to our information, the rest of the series is already being written. On this subject, Thomas Mansuy and Mathieu Leblanc, the screenwriters of Panda, told us: “It will depend on the audiences. If the sanction falls and we are told that the public does not adhere, there will not necessarily be a season 2. In any case, it is in writing. We’re spending our time on it at the moment and trying to continue the Panda story, finding new arenas.“.

If season 2 of Panda is already in writing, this does not mean that it will be validated by TF1. The channel is waiting, as always, for the audience results from the three evenings of broadcast to make a decision on the future of the series.

One thing is certain, it is that Thomas Mansuy and Mathieu Leblanc really want to continue the adventures of Panda and “have fun writing” of this new burst of episodes.

To be continued…
