Pas-de-Calais: a body discovered on a beach

A difficult to identify body was found on Saturday afternoon at a beach in Marck (Pas-de-Calais), near Calais.

The parquet of Boulogne-sur-Mer did not have, Sunday evening, more details on the circumstances of the discovery, nor elements of identification of the victim,.

“The state of the body does not allow it,” said Guirec Le Bras, the prosecutor of Boulogne-sur-Mer. It is still too early to say whether or not this body is that of a migrant, according to the prosecutor.

“Given the condition, we can assume that it was in the water for a long time,” said Guirec Le Bras.

An investigation is underway to try to identify the body and establish the circumstances of the death.
