What not to pack for a picnic
- Breads with a lot of grains quickly fall apart on the way to the picnic.
- Homemade mayonnaise made from raw eggs should also be avoided, as there is a risk of salmonella.
- Meat that is not cooked through or raw fish are also not part of a trip in the sun. They spoil quickly in the heat.
- Very mature cheese may smelt and melt at the picnic.
- Firm types of lettuce such as iceberg lettuce, romaine lettuce, chicory or radicchio are better than green lettuce for a picnic, as the leaves quickly collapse.
