Two years since Pixar films have no longer seen the shadows of dark rooms. Like its predecessors, Red Alert will be broadcast on the Disney + streaming platform.
Disney announced it last Friday: Red Alert, Pixar’s next film, skips the theatrical release box and will debut exclusively on Disney + on March 11. In the United States and in France, at no additional cost as was the case with the Soul and Luca films.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Pixar films have been deprived of theatrical releases and are thus “rescheduled” for a live release on the Disney + streaming platform. The Toy Story spin-off, titled Buzz Lightyear with Chris Evans, should still be released in theaters on June 17 in the United States and June 22 in France.
“Disney + subscribers around the world have enthusiastically embraced Oscar-winning Pixar Soul and critically acclaimed Luca at their exclusive premiere on the service, and we look forward to bringing them the next incredible Pixar feature film, Red alert“Kareem Daniel, president of Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution, said in a statement.

Red Alert follows Mei Lee, a 13-year-old who transforms into a giant red panda when overwhelmed by her emotions, which happens roughly every two seconds when you’re a young, changing teenage girl.
Domee Shi, who stood out with the adorable Pixar short called Bao, is directing the film. Alerte Rouge marks the debut of its 33-year-old director and at the same time becomes the first Pixar film to be made solo by a woman.
