In an unprecedented common approach, professionals, but also representatives of families, employers’ federations and volunteers, have coordinated to make their voices heard, in the pure tradition of cooperation in our region. But this cry is national.

This is the cry of all those who support the weakest in our society: the elderly, dependent, disabled, foster children, migrants, excluded, who today bear the full brunt of the consequences of the health crisis which has led to a withdrawal self and the rise of exclusions.

Mediators, men and women of connection, they took care of the most fragile during the various periods of confinement, they responded present, alongside vulnerable people. They were then involved in the “going towards” vaccine strategy and took part in the policy to fight the pandemic, without being considered as participating in our historically hospital-centred health policy.

This is the cry of social workers, who have not seen, for years, the means allocated to their missions evolve according to their needs, and this while the next stage of the crisis will not be health, but social. , even societal, because society is weakened and relationship precariousness has increased. To deal with this unprecedented situation, we need people-related businesses that are strong and ready to meet the challenges ahead.

This is the cry of all the workers of the human, the bond, who need to be recognized while the abandonment of jobs is increasing: it is estimated that 36,000 the number of departures between 1er June and September 30, 2021, and 30,000 vacancies have been identified. The regions train workers in these sectors and promote these professions to young people seeking guidance or job seekers.

But we have never been confronted with the current disaffections. The formations do not open for lack of candidates. Learners drop out after their internship. Trained people leave their jobs. The promise of being useful, the conviction of working for the common good are no longer enough for poorly recognized and poorly valued professions. This disaffection therefore augurs a shortage of professionals in the years to come: the worst is ahead of us.
