The dog Buck leads a happy life with his master in California. But then he is kidnapped by dog ​​catchers and shipped to Alaska, where sled dogs are needed. Anna, her mother Dorothea (Carla Juri) and her brother Max (Marinus Hohmann) are only able to take a small amount of luggage with them when they flee. Ironically, Anna’s favorite toy, a pink rabbit, is left behind! This loss is not the only thing that makes a new start abroad difficult.

The McCallisters travel away again at Christmas – and again little Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) falls by the wayside: He mistakes a stranger at the airport for his father and ends up in New York instead of sunny Miami. There he meets old acquaintances: the crooks Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern), who still have a score to settle with the kid.
