In TV interviews, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward paid tribute to their late father.

Prince Philip died on April 9 at the age of 99. Prince Charles (72), Princess Anne (70), Prince Andrew (61) and Prince Edward (57) paid tribute to their father in TV programs. The interviews are said to have been recorded before Prince Philips’ death.

In a BBC article on Prince Philips’ life Prince Charles said according to British media reports about his father: “He was very good at showing you how to do things and teaching you different things.” And the heir to the throne added, “His energy was amazing how he supported my mother for such a long time and in an extraordinary way.”

“We sat together on the sofa and he read to us”

Prince Andrew recalls: “Like any other family at the time, parents went to work during the day. But in the evening, just like any other family, we met, sat together on the sofa and he read to us.” And Princess Anne said of Prince Philip: “I think I remember best that he was always there.” You could discuss ideas with him, “and if you had problems you could always go to him and know that he would listen and try to help”.

For Prince Edward, his father was “always a great source of support and encouragement and guidance along the way, and he never tried to limit any activity or anything we tried and wanted to do, but always encouraged us”. He will always remember that, said Edward.
