Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry: do you name your daughter after a royal family member?
Will Meghan and Harry name their little girl after Harry’s grandfather? After the death of Prince Philip, † 99, last month, the British betting company “Ladbrokes” found that the name Philippa had become very popular as a prediction for Meghan and Harry’s daughter. They have lowered the betting odds on the name to 3/1. “The bets on the name Philippa are not decreasing so far,” explains Jessica O’Reilly of “Ladbrokes”.
These are the top predictions for Harry and Meghan’s daughter
If they honored Prince Philip in the form of their second child’s first name, they would not be alone. Harry’s cousins Princess Eugenie, 31, and Zara Tindall, 39, paid tribute to their grandfather shortly before his death by also giving their newborn sons the middle name Philip.
Other top name predictions honor additional members of the royal family. Diana, after Harry’s late mother Princess Diana, † 36, and Elizabeth after Harry’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth, 95, are at the top of the betting list with 5/1 and 10/1. Immediately behind it follow: Allegra (10/1), Alexandria (12/1), Grace (16/1), Emma (16/1), Rose (16/1), Alice (16/1) and Victoria (16 / 1).
When Harry and Meghan welcomed their first child in 2019, they chose a nickname that was off the radar of betting providers and named their son Archie. So let’s be surprised!
