Prince Harry (36) and Duchess Meghan (39) have apparently said goodbye to parental leave. That comes out indirectly from the birth announcement of daughter Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. “While the Duke and Duchess are on parental leave, Archewell will continue to do important work and post stories on the site,” it says at the appropriate place on the homepage of their Archewell Foundation.
Royal expert Omid Scobie confirmed this and also interpreted in an interview with “Good Morning America” indicated that the break could last up to 20 weeks. Because that is the period of time that Archewell also offers its employees after the birth of a baby. “We are so used to […] that senior royals will go back to work, but Harry and Meghan are setting a good example, “says Scobie.

Archewell is the organization founded by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex that currently includes a foundation and media production companies. Archewell Productions and Netflix are currently producing a documentary series about the Invictus Games. Duchess Meghan has written a children’s book entitled “The Bench” which is due to be published on June 8th. Through their non-profit organization Archewell Foundation, they are committed to initiatives that focus on issues such as gender equality and mental health. “At Archewell, we develop the power of compassion to drive systemic cultural change,” says the homepage.
Were you on parental leave after Archie was born?
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have been married since May 2018. Their son Archie (2) was born around a year later. As then working members of the royal family, they took Archie on his first official trip to South Africa when he was just four months old. In spring 2020, the couple resigned from all positions and duties as senior royals and moved to California, where their daughter was born.
