The royal is currently in New York City for an event as part of his Earthshot Prize. According to the New York Post, he declared his sports unit there: “I’ve decided to join the hordes of New Yorkers at morning exercise.” The son of King Charles III. (74) added: “It was wonderful to wake up to a sunny morning in New York – after the rain we had yesterday. It was wonderful to get some fresh air this morning.”

William was welcomed at the high-profile environmental summit at the Plaza Hotel by the city’s former mayor, Michael Bloomberg (81). Bloomberg is also said to have mentioned a current Gallup poll, which apparently showed that the heir to the British throne is more popular in America than US President Joe Biden (80) and former President Donald Trump (77). “Prince William is ahead,” Bloomberg said, according to the New York Post. “The poll found that he is viewed favorably by 60 percent of Democrats and 60 percent of Republicans.”

Prince William is celebrated for Earthshot Prize

Bloomberg also praised Prince William for building on the commitment to environmental protection of his father and grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022). “There was no Nobel Prize for working to save the planet, so he decided to create one,” Bloomberg said of the Earthshot Prize, which William created in 2020.

The heir to the British throne had previously had a personal meeting with the Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres (74), whom he thanked for his support of the Earthshot Prize. The award is intended to support possible solutions to problems in the field of environmental protection. Every year, five projects are honored at an award ceremony, each of which is supported with prize money of one million pounds.

At the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit in the USA, in which the Prince of Wales took part, the 15 finalists for this year’s award ceremony were announced. It will take place on November 7th in Singapore. William himself is expected there too.
