Princess Ingrid Alexandra enchants in her mother’s dress

On Friday, January 21, 2022, Princess Ingrid Alexandra celebrated her 18th birthday. To mark the occasion, the Norwegian palace has published several photos of the celebrant, including portraits in which she is wearing a black silk Lanvin dress.

The flowing fabric nestles against your body, emphasizing the slim silhouette of the future queen. A particularly sweet detail about the breathtaking dress: Ingrid Alexandra stole it from her mother Princess Mette Marit’s wardrobe. She wore it in 2004 at a concert as part of the Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony.

The silk dress is from the Lanvin label’s spring/summer collection 2004 – and is therefore special in more ways than one. Because it is not only an heirloom from her mother, but also dates back to Ingrid Alexandra’s year of birth. With her choice of clothes, the future Queen of Norway once again proves her good taste and that it doesn’t always have to be something new to make a special appearance.

The Danish royal family shows off their best outfits

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Queen Margrethe, 81, the royal family comes together for the celebrations – and is more elegant than ever! The Queen herself wears a gown with black lace detailing and a full purple skirt. Her daughter-in-law, Princess Marie, 45, (third from right) wowed in a form-fitting Elie Saab dress from the Resort 2018 collection. Similar dresses by the designer cost around 2,000 to 4,000 euros.

While the majority of the guests have opted for a dark wardrobe, Princess Athena, 10, and Princess Benedikte, 77, (far left) are particularly striking: the Queen’s sister has opted for a dress in a deep green, while Princess Athena wears a white tulle dress with gold details by Bonpoint, which was available for 386 euros and is already sold out.

But the gentlemen in the group can also be seen in their black suits. A special focus is on Prince Christian, 16, who is standing directly behind Queen Margrethe – and already a few centimeters taller than his father Prince Frederik, 53, (left) and his uncle Prince Joachim, 52, (right). Christian holds second place in the line of succession to the Danish royal family after his father – and looks more mature than ever in the family photo.
