YouTube deleted two channels from convicted felon R. Kelly. However, he has not yet been completely banned.

One week after R. Kelly (54) was convicted in the abuse trial, the video platform YouTube took action. Two of the musician’s official channels, “RKellyTV” and his Vevo account, which published his music videos, were deleted. This was done in accordance with the guidelines of the site, according to which channels can be removed by people if they have been found guilty of a serious offense or have been convicted by a court.

“We can confirm that we removed two channels that belonged to R. Kelly,” the “New York Times” quotes a spokeswoman from YouTube named Ivy Choi. But his music has not completely disappeared. For example, cover versions of his songs uploaded by other users can be found. His entire music catalog is also still available via YouTube Music.

R. Kelly was found guilty by a jury jury of abusing and exploiting minors in late September 2021. A sentence has not yet been determined, he faces up to ten years in prison.
