Regional league marks – only one person earned the “very good” rating

Much average and two outliers: the marks for the teams. The St. Johanner also surprise the highly regarded A students. The former regional league dominator SAK receives the maximum penalty.

Winter is slowly arriving in the Salzburger Land. This means that autumn, the first semester, is over in the Salzburg Regionalliga. Before the teams go on vacation, they receive a certificate from the “Krone”.

Very good: St. Johann.

Hardly anyone (except Grünau coach Aigner) thought of such a good performance by the Pongauers. The wolf pack under trainer Ernst Lottermoser was committed and ambitious – a real model student. Who worked out such a “scholarship” in the western league himself.

Good: Austria Salzburg.

Starting the year with a first-grade candidate, the violet collaboration wasn’t always good. The Schaider crew passed the most important tests with ease.

Satisfactory: Kuchl, Anif, Seekirchen.

Kuchl coped well with Matthias Seidl’s departure, but too often dropped points. “It would have been more possible,” groaned coach Mario Helmlinger. With a new coach, Anif needed time to get going. It was also lucky for the Kletzl crew that there is a direct train connection to Switzerland, so the Knipser Enis Kuka, who migrated there, was able to continue to meet. Hui at home, ugh outside – that applies to Seekirchen. Six of the seven victories of the season were won at Wallersee.

Enough: FC Pinzgau Saalfelden, Bischofshofen, Grödig, Wals-Grünau.

FC Pinzgau had too many minuses. Starting with ambitions in the second division, Saalfelden fell far short of expectations in the end. Bischofshofen attacks from winter with the new “class representative” Andi Fötschl. Too often, bigger blunders followed. Grödig can be described as a late bloomer. With fourth place in the second half of the table, the ex-Bundesliga club showed that he has a lot of potential. Wals-Grünau is exactly where you expected it to be. Not more but also not less.

Not enough: SAK.

In a normal year there would have been a fire on the roof in Nonntal long ago. 42 goals conceded in 18 games with a meager two wins. The reminder for the SAK is on the way, but the fiver can be mended. During the winter break, there are some tutoring sessions.

Conclusion: A grade point average of 2.9 is quite acceptable after the long Corona break. But only very few have earned reward candy.
