Emergency services had to respond to an alpine accident on Untersberg on Thursday. A 73-year-old from Flachgau fell on the Dopplersteig.
Due to the closure of the riding trail that the man actually wanted to use, he headed towards the valley via the Dopplersteig. When the 73-year-old had passed the wall area (stone steps) and was on the way towards “Bründl”, he fell about 20 meters for reasons unknown. The Flachgau man was given first aid by the rescue helicopter crew and then rescued using rope and taken to hospital flown. Nothing is known about the extent of his injuries.
