Surprising news from Roman Weidenfeller: The former footballer and his wife Lisa have separated.
In the spring they became parents to a daughter, but now they are going their separate ways: Roman Weidenfeller, 43, and his wife Lisa, 35, have separated. The former BVB star confirmed this to “Bild”.
Roman Weidenfeller confirms marriage end
“It’s true, Lisa and I are no longer a couple. We separated amicably. We tried to save our marriage together, but unfortunately we realized that it no longer worked in the long term,” the 43-year-old told the Publication and emphasizes: “We are both sad that we didn’t make it. For us, our two children are our top priority. Of course, as parents, we will look after their well-being together.”
A message that causes surprise. Just four weeks ago, Lisa Weidenfeller shared a vacation photo with both children and wrote “Love” in capital letters. It is the love for their children that binds Lisa and Roman together forever.
The couple separated for the first time in 2020
Roman and Lisa Weidenfeller tied the knot in 2015, and their first child together was born a year later. “We are full of happiness and gratitude about the birth of our son Leonard today. Lisa and Leo are both doing well,” wrote the athlete in 2016 with the first photo of his baby. According to their own statements, the couple separated amicably two years after the birth, and Roman and Lisa celebrated their romantic comeback in 2020. “Lisa and I spend a lot of time together and get along very well. We’re currently taking a little break in the Maldives,” Weidenfeller told Bild at the time. Now another separation despite baby number two.
