Rules at a glance – End from Saturday night: This applies after the lockdown

On Wednesday, the federal government and the federal states set the rules for opening after the end of the Austria-wide corona lockdown for vaccinated and convalescent people on Sunday. The most important details: The exit restrictions for vaccinated persons end in the night from Saturday to Sunday (11th or 12th December) – nationwide. The exit restrictions remain in place for those who have not been vaccinated. Some federal states only open individual sectors with a delay.

The supraregional rules from Sunday at a glance: The gastronomy is allowed to open – with a curfew at 11 p.m. An FFP2 mask is required outside of the seat. Cultural events with up to 2000 people with assigned seats may take place. In addition, FFP2 masks are required in all closed rooms. The trade is allowed to open on Monday, December 13th, as are the body-hugging service providers. Hotels and accommodation establishments are allowed to unlock: 2G and FFP2 requirements apply here. Sports – indoors and outdoors – are also possible with a 2G certificate. During sport – e.g. in the fitness studio – the FFP2 mask requirement does not apply to direct sporting activities; there is also no minimum distance. 3G also applies – vaccinated, recovered or tested – in the workplace. The night gastronomy, bar and après-ski bars remain closed. These measures are a “safety net”, said Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens). Regionally stricter measures possible The protective measures are minimum standards set by the federal government, which may not be undercut, but clearly exceeded, as Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) said at the presentation on Wednesday specified. They should be checked intensively. Some federal states are taking stricter measures due to the continued high number of infections, Burgenland, Tyrol and Vorarlberg, on the other hand, will block everything on Sunday. Day incidence from more than 1000 to just over 500. But the number of seriously ill patients who have to be treated in intensive care units is still increasing, at least in the west of the country. Across Austria there were 638 on Wednesday, a minus compared to the previous day, when there were more than ever this year. The fourth wave also brought the highest death toll in eleven months. 58 deaths were registered in the past 24 hours.
