RUMOR on Assassin’s Creed Rift: an extension of Valhalla transformed into a stealth-oriented stand-alone and with Basim, according to several sources

Among the strong licenses that account Ubisoft to its catalog, Assassin’s Creed is one of the best known now, an annualized time before changing course by transforming its main releases into Action RPG. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was so successful that the publisher decided to continue its operation beyond its first year. We already got the free content Cross Narratives in which Cassandra invited herself at the time ofEivorin addition to living a new adventure in Odysseycorn the big chunk of theYear 2 will arrive next month with the paid extension Dawn of Ragnarok centered on Odin and mythology. And after ? The only certainty so far was that the platform project Assassin’s Creed Infinity is in development jointly at the Quebec and Montreal studios, which will not be in the format free-to-play. We might have thought that other DLCs would come to occupy the players to wait, even an entirely new episode. Well, we obviously have the answer, which is still only a rumor.

This is, once again, Jason Schreier from Bloomberg who struck again and published an article in which he asserts thatUbisoft turned what should have been an Assassin’s Creed Valhalla expansion into a project stand-alone to help fill his outing schedule. This project which would be called internally Rift would have been modified in this way last year and should appeal to fans sinceit would be centered on basim. Its scale would be much less than recent episodes (nobody will complain about it) and would not make us survey a massive open world, preferring focus sound gameplay about stealth, a more than welcome return to basics. As for its release period, it’s quite vague, since the journalist talks about the end of the year 2022 or 2023which everyone could have guessed…

A representative ofUbisoft said he wouldn’t comment on the rumours, of course, and that the publisher has “a strong line-up of titles” from “established licenses with new plot and feature twists, and new IPs that will continue to changing the landscape of today’s video games”. For his part, Jason Schreier indicated that the publisher would have reworked several extensions during the last year, canceling some. To see what awaits Valhalla throughout 2022.

Furthermore, Tom Phillips ofEurogamer took the opportunity to support this rumor with his own sources, saying thatAssassin’s Creed Rift could take place in Baghdadthe capital of present-day Iraq, at the time of the Abbasids therefore since basim would be the protagonist, before the events of Valhalla for the part in the past. Producer Jose Araiza previously said we’ll see more about him in the future, so there shouldn’t be any surprises.

What is certain is that in a few days will come out Assassin’s Creed The Ezio Collection on Switch, which you can consult our buying guide if you are interested.
