He drew everyone's attention at the start of "Let's Dance": Rúrik Gislason seems to be the heartthrob of the year.

The starting shot has been fired! Since Friday (February 26th) RTL and TVNow have been dancing their legs again on a weekly basis. At "Let's Dance – Who dances with whom? The big introductory show" the 14 celebrities were able to demonstrate their dancing talent for the first time and were then assigned to their dance partners for this year. One of the jury and the audience particularly caught the eye: the Icelandic ex-professional footballer Rúrik Gislason (33).

Even before his rehearsals for the show, the 33-year-old said: "I don't think anyone knows me." The Icelander was already an eye-catcher on the field at the 2018 World Cup. Gislason impressed the jury with his steel-blue eyes and his movements during the Cha-Cha-Cha at the side of actress Valentina Pahde (26) and singer Ilse DeLange (43, "Changes"). Motsi Mabuse (39) stated: "Athletes, footballers, solid muscles – we didn't see any of that. We saw a nice hip action. Very nice!" And Jorge González (53) also joked that he would have loved to give the footballer 20 points.

"A mega handsome man"

For his first dance, the athlete received a total of 18 points from the jury. But apparently he was also able to inspire the audience at home. They were able to decide through phone calls which prominent dancer should receive the so-called wildcard and thus be safe from being kicked out in the next week. They chose the soccer player and raved on social media: "Rúrik Gislason is a mega handsome man" or "Gentlemen, is that a guy!". Seems like the Icelander has taken the hearts of many people by storm.

Dance partner Renata Lusin (33) was also unable to keep her enthusiasm in check when it was announced that she would dance with the Icelandic man. Presenter Daniel Hartwich (42) couldn't help joking: "You know that your husband is also taking part in this show."
