In recent years, Samsung remotes have made advancements in technology. While in 2021, the South Korean manufacturer had integrated a panel on the back of its zappet so that it can be recharged thanks to the sun, the electronics giant had a new ingenious idea.
Samsung’s next remotes will be able to recharge using radio waves.
A remote control recharged by radio waves
Included with all new ranges of Samsung televisions in 2022, the manufacturer’s new remote control will be powered by the energy contained in electromagnetic waves, such as those emitted by a Wi-Fi router. The manufacturer believes that, combined with the photovoltaic panel, this new device should make it possible to keep the zapette fully charged constantly, day and night. The Echo remote can still be charged via USB-C if necessary.
Like its predecessor, Samsung’s new remote was made from recycled materials. Small novelty however, it will be available in a white color, in addition to black. The design remains the same, however, with buttons dedicated to SVoD platforms (Netflix, Disney +, Amazon Prime Video) and Samsung TV Plus as well as a microphone for voice control.
