On the first of Advent, Sarah bakes Christmas cookies with friends and her husband. They also form a small family out of the dough and decorate it with icing lettering. While the names “Julian” and “Sarah” are on the large “parent biscuits”, one of the little men is adorned with an “A” for Alessio, Sarah’s son from her first marriage to Pietro Lombardi.
