In a new interview, Sarah Ferguson said that Princess Diana was “very proud of her sons” Prince William and Prince Harry.

Sarah Ferguson (61), the ex-wife of Prince Andrew (61), remembers the late Princess Diana (1961-1997) in a new interview. When Diana was 14 years old and she herself was 15, the two became “best friends”, she tells in an interview with the US magazine “People”. “I know if she were to sit with me now, she would say, ‘I am so proud of my two boys and of the wonderful wives they have chosen’.”

She would also be incredibly proud of her grandchildren, according to Ferguson. Diana’s son Prince William (39) has been married to Duchess Kate (39) since 2011. Together they have their two sons, Prince George (7) and Prince Louis (3), as well as their daughter, Princess Charlotte (6). Diana’s second son Prince Harry (36) also has two children together with his wife, Duchess Meghan (39) – little Archie (2) and Lilibet, who was born in early June.

Completely “obsessed” with the grandchildren

Ferguson is certain that Diana would be completely “obsessed” with her grandchildren, because in this point the deceased princess was very similar to her. Even after the daughters of her friend, Princess Beatrice (32) and Princess Eugenie (31), Diana was crazy back then and she “loved her boys dearly. This would be her refuge, her heaven.”

“I miss Diana very much. I loved her so much,” said Sarah Ferguson in 2007 in an interview with “Harper’s Bazaar”. She and Diana were “like siblings”. “I have to smile every time you mention her name,” explains the 61-year-old. Diana had, among other things, a “wonderful sense of humor”. Without question, Harry and William’s mother is “still with us”. Ferguson, who published a novel entitled “Her Heart for a Compass” at the beginning of August, continues to carry Diana in her heart: “I love her.”
