Kamara racially offended – by children

Due to a previous racism scandal, fans are not allowed into the Sparta Prague stadium. However, the club invites 10,000 children with a special permit for the Europa League game against the Glasgow Rangers. These boo Rangers professional Glen Kamara with every touch – and are said to have insulted him racially.

The Glasgow professional footballer Glen Kamara has been racially insulted again. In the Europa League game away from Sparta Prague, this time not on the opponent’s lawn – but on children in the stands. The midfielder (25) was booed in the 1-0 victory of the Czechs by some of the 10,000 young Slavia fans every time they hit the ball, and according to media reports they also insulted him racially.

Actually, the duel against the Scots should be played in front of empty grandstands. This was preceded by a racism scandal in the Sparta game against AS Monaco (0: 2), in which the black AS player Aurelien Tchouameni (21) was insulted several times by Prague supporters. The Czech series champion suggested, however, that 10,000 children between the ages of six and 14 and their supervisors should be allowed into the stadium with a special permit.

Kamara’s lawyer Aamer Anwar accused the audience of racism after the game and criticized UEFA: “Tonight shows once again that Prague has a serious problem with racism and UEFA is nowhere to be seen as usual.”

Kamara, who saw the yellow-red card in the 74th minute, whereupon many spectators cheered, had previously been involved in a racist incident. He had accused the opposing player Ondrej Kudela of a “hideous racist insult” after a game against Slavia Prague last year. “Some things are bigger than football”, the noticeably shaken Rangers coach Steven Gerrard said at the time: “Now the thing is at UEFA and I just hope it won’t be swept under the carpet.” UEFA then suspended Kudela, who played everything, for ten games. Kamada, who Kudela accused of beating him, also had to take three games out of the game.
