The Prime Minister announced three new measures as the anger of parents roars at the “indescribable mess” of the new health protocol implemented in schools to counter the rise of the Omicron variant.

Since the start of the school year on January 3, students have to be tested three times in four days if a positive case is detected in their class.
“I understand that the protocol has raised concerns,” admitted the Prime Minister before detailing the new health protocol.
Children stay in class until the school trip
When a positive case is detected in a class, we will not close the whole class. We do not ask parents to pick up their child immediately, we will wait for the school trip.
Self-tests will suffice for children
The self-tests will now be taken into account and will be free, announced Jean Castex. Children will have to perform three self-tests and no longer PCR or antigen tests to be performed in pharmacies. 11 million self-tests will be delivered to pharmacies this week, added the Prime Minister.
Only one certificate requested
Since the start of the school year on January 3, students must be tested three times in four days if a positive Covid-19 case is detected in their class. An update of the health protocol has since been carried out: students no longer have to complete a new complete course if a new positive case appears in their class within less than seven days. A single certificate will be requested to justify these three self-tests.
