"The Mentalist" star Simon Baker separated from his wife Rebecca Rigg in April 2020, as it is now known.

The series and film star Simon Baker (51), known among others from "The Mentalist", and his wife Rebecca Rigg (53) separated – and that already last year, as it is now known. According to a report by the US magazine "People", the separation took place in April 2020 after more than 20 years of marriage.

The children are the most important thing

"We remain close friends and our three children will always be the most important focus in our lives," the two actors said in a joint statement. Baker and Rigg first met in the early 1990s, later appeared together in the Australian soap "E Street" and finally married in 1998. They have three grown children – daughter Stella (27) and sons Claude (22) and Harry (19).

Shortly before the 20th anniversary of their marriage, Baker revealed to the magazine in June 2018 that he and Rigg did not give much attention to anniversaries that he described as "strange". That was never really something for the former couple. Once he took his wife out to dinner and got a present. The evening later ended in an argument. He thinks that was because "we put too much pressure on ourselves. (…) We're a team. Most of the time, 99 percent of the time, we're really good friends." He doesn't have to emphasize that in any way.
