The Netflix documentary ends this way: the famous “Tinder scammer“remained on the application and is therefore preparing, perhaps, to start his scams again!
However, the platform has since reacted: Believing that Simon Leviev has exceeded the rules of Tinder by asking for money from the women he met, its leaders have decided to ban him for life from the application. After “internal investigations, [nous] can confirm that Simon Leviev is no longer active on Tinder under any of his known handles“, they told the magazine variety.
They also added that any account that comes close to him will be banned for life. In the meantime, Simon Leviev, who would actually be called Shimon Hayut, has closed his Instagram account followed by nearly 200,000 followers. He had first explained that he would deliver his truth later and that he hoped that the women implicated would do the same.
However, his victims retaliated with a joint prize pool, launched on GoFundMe. These are indeed ruined, having borrowed a lot of money for him, sometimes more than 100,000 dollars. They therefore appealed to the generosity of Internet users to help them, after having received “the outpouring of compassion and support from everyone” to the broadcast of the report.
They said they only wanted “to regain [leur] life” after a difficult period and a large-scale scam. Indeed, Simon Leviev used to meet his victims on Tinder and make them live a very high life (private jet, caviar …), then to announce to them that he got involved in some shady trouble, young women then agreed to give money and ended up hearing nothing more of him.
After a short prison sentence, he was released and would live with Kate Konlin, an actress and model of the same nationality as him. She did not react to the scandal but simply took her Instagram account to private. On the other hand, nothing prevents him from doing other scams on other platforms…
