Sirens wailed – fire in Kufstein printing plant called for fire brigade

At around 12.30 p.m. on Thursday the sirens wailed in the Tyrolean town of Kufstein. A fire broke out in a commercial business on Stuttgarter Strasse. The fire brigade’s emergency services were extremely challenged in fighting the fire.

Dark smoke rose into the sky in Kufstein shortly after noon. The fire in a printing shop was visible from far away. The fire department responded with 33 emergency services and five vehicles. An emergency medical team and several police patrols were also on site. Thanks to the quick intervention of the Florianijüngers, the fire was extinguished within a short time. However, the heavy smoke made the operation more difficult. A defective printer was the cause. No one was injured in the fire. However, the material damage is likely to be considerable. According to the police, initial investigations into the cause of the fire indicate that a technical defect in a CO-2 printer was likely responsible for the fire.
