Skoda Enyaq Coupé iV: surprise, a sporty RS version accompanies the Coupé SUV

Skoda is today unveiling not one, but two new features to enrich the range of its electric SUV called Enyaq. In addition to the Coupé version, long planned for the start of 2022, Skoda surprises us with its sporty version called Enyaq Coupé RS iV.

Skoda has been heating up the sauce for several weeks around its new Coupé version of its electric SUV, finally presented on January 31, 2022. The manufacturer was however careful not to tell us about the arrival of a sportier version. One cannot, however, help noticing the development similarities with its Volkswagen cousin and the recent announcements of ID.5 and ID.5 GTX. So what does the Czech manufacturer have in store for us with this Enyaq Coupé iV and Enyaq Coupé RS iV?

Enyaq Coupé iV: more aerodynamics and range

The new Skoda Enyaq Coupé iV stands out from the Enyaq iV with a more elegant silhouette and a new tinted panoramic glass roof, the largest in the Skoda range. Its aerodynamics are improved thanks to this new plunging roofline. But this remains an evolution more than a revolution in the manufacturer’s electric range.

The new Enyaq Coupé retains the same front end as the SUV of the same name, the evolution of the style is especially noticeable by observing the profile of the car. Despite this coupe look, the Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV retains a 570-litre trunk. This is a generally important point for the brand’s customers. Just like all the little “simply clever” tricks (umbrella in the driver’s door, scraper in the charging hatch, lamp in the trunk, etc.) that have become essential for the brand.

The announced autonomy shows a slight gain of ten kilometers (11 km) compared to the SUV on the version equipped with the 82 kWh battery. Skoda Enyaq Coupé communicates on a range of 545 km (wltp) for the 80 version with large battery.

Skoda Enyaq Coupé iV will be available with different combinations:

  • Enyaq coupé iV 60: power of 132 kW (180 hp) in propulsion and 62 kWh battery (58 useful kWh)
  • Enyaq coupé iV 80: power of 150 kW (204 hp) in propulsion and battery of 82 kWh (77 kWh useful)
  • Enyaq coupe iV 80x: power of 150,195 kW (265 hp) in all-wheel drive and 82 kWh battery (77 useful kWh)

Skoda’s first all-electric RS

If the manufacturer’s RS range has already been electrified with the Skoda Octavia RS iV plug-in hybrid, the Enyaq Coupé RS iV will be the first 100% electric model to acquire this badge.

It is especially under the hood that the difference with the Enyaq Coupé iV is played. This sports version named Enyaq Coupé RS iV is offered with a power of 220 kW (300 hp) and a torque of 460 Nm, it goes hand in hand with the 82 kWh battery (77 kWh useful) and an all-wheel drive.

Impossible to go unnoticed by opting for the RS version, because it will only be available in the presentation color, namely this “Mamba Green” green. This RS version comes with some distinctive black stylistic elements to this version.

True to the spirit of the RS range, the interior of the sports car will be a little different from the standard version, including seats specific to this version. Mamba green will also make its way into the passenger compartment of this sporty version.
