Sky: Bundesliga and Champions League now as a combination deal – cheaper than MagentaTV?

SKY

After MagentaTV, Sky is now launching a new sports offer with the entire Bundesliga and the Champions League. Is Sky Q’s new offering worth more than the MegaSport option?

  • The Bundesliga and the DAZN offer including the Champions League are now available in one package via Sky Q.
  • The annual subscription includes the new football package including Sky Entertainment for EUR 38.99 per month.
  • Compared to the MegaSport option from MagentaTV, however, some content is missing with roughly the same subscription costs.

Sky Q now offers the option of booking the Sky Bundesliga package and unlimited access to DAZN via the app and linear TV channels as a discounted bundle:

If you, as a new customer, choose the appropriate combination by September 30, 2022, you only pay 38.99 euros per month and can therefore watch all Bundesliga games – and almost the entire UEFA Champions League. Sky also generously adds the rather non-sports entertainment package.

A good offer given the fact that the DAZN subscription alone costs you around 30 euros per month since the horrendous price increase of the sports streaming service and you are also charged 25 euros per month for the annual booking.

Sky Q Bundesliga package or MagentaTV MegaSport option – what’s more worth it?

But can the new Sky offer keep up with Telekom’s ultimate live sports bundle? Finally, the new MegaSport option from MagentaTV includes significantly more content – including from Sky itself.

The MegaSport option includes all live sports content from Sky, not just the Bundesliga. The new Sky package for around 39 euros thus lacks the prestigious Premier League, Formula 1 and tennis highlights such as Wimbledon, all of which are part of the new MagentaTV offer.

MegaSport Option is only available with a Telekom connection

So if you decide on an annual subscription until August 31, you will get significantly more performance at the same price with Telekom: The early bird discount of the MegaSport Option is still valid for that long – if you are already a MagentaZuhause customer or are still want to get there.

However, you have to be careful after the first year of the MegaSport Option contract has expired. Then the price for the MegaSport option increases to 48 euros per month – and the Sky subscription would be significantly cheaper if the deal still existed and not only new customers could benefit from it.

Perhaps Sky will screw together a corresponding option later for everyone who can do without Telekom’s live fringe sport and mainly wants to watch football.
