Announced during the social mobilization which disrupted the network at the end of the year, the vouchers are slow to arrive at customers.

The SNCF strike at Christmas had aroused indignation and anger among travelers. In all, 200,000 tickets had been canceled at the last minute. To calm the tensions, the SNCF had then proposed “200% compensationin voucher for the value of the canceled journeyfor travel scheduled between December 23 and December 26, 2022.

If the form to request compensation opened quickly, dozens of travelers have still not received their voucher. “We are still waiting for 200% for a December 22 request. I called the SNCF which, as usual, fell behind in reimbursements. Do not count them before February“, tweeted a user on January 12.

For its part, the railway group specifies that “the delay can be a little longer due to manual processing for a large part of the files“. The company also indicates that it is still too early to obtain the number of applications filed.

An “announcement effect”

Some customers have nevertheless received compensation, but this does not cover all of their expenses. “You offer me a voucher for 86.50 euros while my trip canceled on December 23 is 173 euros… very far from the 200% promised. No news since my three “legitimate” reminders by email… what a lack of consideration for your customers!!“, takes offense Christophe on Twitter. Same observation for Noah, who is waiting “always the 200% promised! 80 euros out of 182 euros, that doesn’t make 200%, does it?“. For these travellers, the SNCF played on a “announcement effect“which does not apply”in practice“.

The railway company underlines for its part that the “digital voucher is sent [directement aux voyageurs] within a few weeks“. It can be claimed “until the end of May 2023» and will be «valid for one year from the date of receipt“. “All our teams are mobilized to ensure that each file is processed and each voucher is sent as soon as possible.“, completes the SNCF.
