The 15th season of the jungle camp starts in January. The moderators reveal what will be different in South Africa than in Australia.

It starts again in January 2022. RTL starts with the anniversary series of “I am a star – get me out of here!”. Almost a month before they go live from South Africa, the moderators Sonja Zietlow (53) and Daniel Hartwich (43) reveal what will be different in the corona-related alternative camp than in Australia.

South Africa is “drier and dustier” than Australia

“I’m really looking forward to South Africa, it’s a wonderful country. The climate is mega, the people are great and there are a lot of exciting animals,” said Sonja Zietlow, who is experienced in Africa, in an RTL interview. The heat in South Africa is “drier and more dusty” than in Australia, where the German jungle camp was previously located. “You just sweat a little and don’t drip like that.”

Daniel Hartwich, on the other hand, is looking forward to “the great white wine that should be made in South Africa”. A rumor that his moderator colleague can confirm: “I don’t actually drink wine, but when I was in South Africa at the time, I allowed myself one and was promptly convinced.” The fine wines are simply “awesome”.

Not only will the climate and wines be different on the African continent, but also the production conditions under which the entire team works. “We now really know our way around Australia, we know every corner and every bush in the camp,” explains the 53-year-old. Now you “suddenly no longer know how to go from the tree house to the camp”. In addition, there is “no time difference” any more.

No white wine, but a bigger camp?

The TV presenters do not yet know what the camp residents can expect this year – except that, according to Hartwich, they will probably not be able to enjoy the good white wine. Sonja Zietlow, however, has an inkling: “The Australians already produced their jungle camp before Corona in South Africa. I took a look there. The camp looks somehow bigger.”

Which twelve stars will move to the South African jungle in 2022 and face the exams is still largely a secret. Only three candidates have been confirmed: designer and style icon Harald Glööckler (56), singer Lucas Cordalis (54) and “Die Bachelorette” candidate Filip Pavlovic (27).

The 15th season of “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” starts on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 9:30 p.m. on RTL. The jungle king or queen will be chosen on February 5th.
