Q’s intentions and plans become clearer in the 5th “Picard” episode. The divergence in the timeline is related to Jean-Luc Picard’s blond ancestor. More on web world.
- The 5th episode of the 2nd season of “Star Trek: Picard” features viewers Renée Picard.
- Jean-Luc Picard’s ancestor is on the verge of the most important space mission of the 21st century.
- If she doesn’t take part in this one, the dystopian future revolving around the “Earth Confederation” will ensue.
Things are starting to get clearer on Star Trek: Picard. Season 2 Episode 5 finally introduces the person responsible for the timeline deviation in Jean-Luc Picard’s (Patrick Stewart) great-aunt Renée Picard (Penelope Mitchell). The omnipotent being Q (John de Lancie) is actually responsible for the dystopian future around the “Earth Confederation”.
However, for reasons that are still unclear, Q’s powers are ineffective against Renée Picard, as the ending of the previous 4th episode of the “Star Trek” series showed. But first things first.
Q’s purpose is to stop Renée Picard from her upcoming space mission. Jean-Luc’s gifted great-aunt is a very capable scientist and athlete and speaks several languages. NASA has therefore selected her as the first person for a trip to Jupiter’s moon Europa.
In the Star Trek: Picard season 2 time travel story Renée discover a microorganism on Europa that is sensitive. This journey is referred to in the series as the most important space mission of the 21st century.
The guardian or warden Tallinn (Orla Brady) is only on the earth of the year 2024 because she watches over the so important ancestor of Jean-Luc.
However, Renée Picard also suffers from psychological problems and is prone to depression. Q, who, as mentioned at the beginning, cannot use his powers against Renée, therefore pretends to be her therapist. Q uses the trusting position to sow doubts in Renée and ultimately dissuade her from participating in the European mission.
And if Renée Picard will never start this mission, then the dystopian future revolves around the “Earth Confederation” and Jean-Luc Picard’s house is piled with the skulls of his defeated opponents.
So far so good. Unfortunately, even after 5 episodes of the second season of “Star Trek: Picard”, it is still not fully clear why Renée Picard’s trip to the moon of Jupiter is of such great importance. It also seems necessary for Q to consult the geneticist Dr. To harness Adam Soong (Brent Spiner) for his purposes, since he himself cannot use his powers against Renée Picard.
Ultimately, only the remaining 5 episodes from the 2nd season will bring more clarity here. At least it already seems certain that the so-called first contact with the Vulcans should play a role here. Because that was already indicated in a trailer before the start of the second “Picard” season.
