Johnson & Johnson has submitted an application for a booster vaccination with the Covid-19 vaccine “Covid-19-Vaccine Janssen” in Switzerland. The therapeutic products authority Swissmedic checks the submitted data in the rolling assessment.
The pharmaceutical company has submitted a request for a booster vaccination to Swissmedic, as the drug authority announced on Wednesday. The clinical data submitted for the booster would be tested for safety and effectiveness.
The duration of the rolling assessment until Swissmedic’s decision is therefore significantly influenced by the applicant. It depends primarily on the completeness of the data submitted by Johnson & Johnson and the results of the clinical trials. So far, Swissmedic has approved the booster vaccinations for Pfizer / BioNTech (Comirnaty) and Moderna (Spikevax). (SDA)
