Sylvie Meis in an interview with Brigitte

Brigitte: Sylvie, which beauty trend have you found indispensable this summer?

When it comes to beauty, I really don’t want to go without lipstick this summer. I think a lot of women stopped doing it in the pandemic because of the mask. But now life is just beginning again.

So let’s use the time to feel glamorous, fresh and sexy.

For me, lipstick or lip gloss stands for so much femininity and I think that should be celebrated.

Which lipstick color do you prefer to use?

It’s really difficult for me to make up my mind. I really like nude tones, but also bright colors like pink and red. I’m just really into glamor now – I want to really enjoy fashion again.

You always have a beautiful glow on your skin. How do you do that?

I’m really often asked about this and of course one would like to say that the glow only comes from within, but you can also achieve a little glow with the right make-up – for example with a bronzer or highlighter. But here I would recommend trying the look at home first to see how what works for you. The best thing to do is to take a photo of your face to see how the make-up would affect others. Because sometimes highlighter can be too much and too intense. As I said, just test it out. Just as you have to learn to apply red lipstick, you have to teach yourself how to do it first. Personally, I couldn’t do without this glow.

You too have days when you don’t feel so comfortable. What do you do then?

I feel most comfortable on days like this when I apply a very light make-up.

You can actually say that if I don’t feel so pretty, then I just try all the more.

The hair is then quickly made curly with the Dyson Airwrap, I apply a light make-up and a bit of mascara. A little self-care then helps me not necessarily to carry the feeling of what I have inside of me to the outside.

Sylvie Meis travels to Ibiza: That shouldn’t be missing in her suitcase

You recently packed your story for vacation. Where are you going and what shouldn’t be missing in your suitcase?

I’m really happy because I’m flying to Ibiza with Damian. And Ibiza for me simply means denim shorts, which I definitely always have with me. But what is also very important for me is to bring a sun hat and good sunscreen with you. I have to protect my skin from the sun in particular, because if I don’t, I quickly get pigment spots. And of course my sunglasses from my new collection with “Edel-Optics” also come with me on vacation, they simply enhance every outfit.

And which fashion trend are you still betting on in summer?

Clearly on neon colors. Even if it’s just accessories – I just need a little color to feel alive again.

Get out of the dreary home office look. I’m really done with it.

Which trend I find cool now, are the “Dad Sandals”. I never thought I’d join this trend, but I’ve been influenced by the fashion world and now I love it. They are the perfect summer piece.
