This Tuesday, September 6, 2022 will finally release the full version of Temtem, allowing many Tamers to discover the Pokémon-like on different platforms: PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series or PS5! But there is a catch in all this and it is important for you to know it if you want to buy Temtem or if you have already pre-ordered it.
Internet connection and online subscription required
This may seem logical if you have been used to multiplayer games for some time, but if you are buying Temtem for your children or if this is your first console game, note that Temtem is an MMO (massively multiplayer game). Thus, to start the game, you will need an internet connection but not only.
If on PC only the internet connection will be enough for you to play Temtem, it is a completely different question on the console side. For a few years now, Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft have put in place subscriptions that allow online multiplayer play. If you do not subscribe to one of these subscriptions, you will not be able to launch Temtem and play it in any way.
How do I get an online subscription to play Temtem?
If you don’t play on PC but on console, here are the different offers available:
Nintendo Switch Online
Go to the tab Nintendo Switch Online from your console or directly from Nintendo eShop. Note that a 7-day free trial is available.
- If you are alone to play on Switch and you do not know any friends on the console, we advise you to take out an individual subscription which costs 3.99€ per month, 7.99€ for 3 months or 19.99 € for 1 year.
- If you are not playing alone and you know friends and family on the console, it is much more profitable to take a family subscription for 8 accounts. The latter costs €34.99 for 12 months, i.e. around €4 per person per year.
A Premium version of Nintendo Switch Online also exists. This is the Additional Pack that gives you access to DLCs like Animal Crossing New Horizons or Mario Kart 8, as well as the N64 and MegaDrive catalog. Solo, this subscription costs €39.99 per year and family it costs €69.99 per year.
Xbox Live Gold
The Xbox Live Gold offer allows access to online multiplayer gaming, to enjoy 2 free games every month but also discounts on the purchase of titles.
- Xbox Live Gold single: €6.99 per month
- Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: all the benefits of Xbox Live Gold + hundreds of free games to try (Game Pass) – €12.99 per month
Note that the first month, the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs only 1€.
Playstation Plus
Your PlayStation Network account alone will not be enough for you to access Temtem online. For this, you will need to subscribe to PS Plus. Note that this offer allows you to get the online multiplayer game but also free games each month.

In short, you will have understood it, the easiest way to play Temtem is on PC (no additional cost) but if you have a console and you plan to play several games online, then you will have to subscribe to an online subscription. The cheapest currently remains the Nintendo Switch family subscription (barely €5 per year if you manage to find 7 other people).
