The Adidas RPT-02 SOL is a sports audio headset that insists on record autonomy, thanks to the light

The RPT-02 SOL is the latest addition to Adidas Headphones sports headphones, designed in partnership with Zound Industries. Its strong point? It is equipped with photovoltaic cells to self-recharge using solar energy, thus increasing its autonomy. This is not a real novelty on the market, because behind this solar technology hides the Powerfoyle of the Swedish company Exeger, already seen at work on the Urbanista Los Angeles.

Note that the cells used operate on solar energy, but also with artificial light, which allows the helmet to extend its autonomy even when used under the neon lights of a gym. A power indicator on the headband also allows you to have an overview of the level of charge obtained thanks to the light. As for the Adidas Headphones application, it displays the remaining autonomy, the level of charge, etc., to have a precise idea of the autonomy available.

Exeger mentions three hours of use saved for one hour of outdoor exposure in sunny weather, knowing that, even without any light input, the RPT-02 SOL can operate for up to 80 hours on a charge.

Headphones for sports require, it is splash resistant with a reassuring IPX4 certification, while the headband is washable and the ear cushions can be replaced if necessary. Finally, Adidas emphasizes intuitive controls even in the middle of a sports session, including an easy-to-use volume adjustment wheel. The Adidas RPT-02 SOL headphones will be on sale from August 23 at the recommended price of €229. A tidy sum that the product will have to justify during a possible test in order to prove its value.
