On the occasion of the Star Wars Celebration which was held in London from April 7 to 10, Lucasfim and Disney showed the first images of the series Ahsoka and *The Acolyte* as well as their plans for future Galactic Saga films. The icing on the cake, they also unveiled the trailer for the animated series Star Wars: Visions Volume 2, scheduled for the Disney+ streaming platform on May 4.

9 short films, 9 animation studios

This volume 2, which will be available on Disney+ for the famous “Star Wars Day”, promises to push the ambition of the program even further: 9 new short films, produced by 9 recognized animation studios from all over the world, and pushing a little further the narrative and visual boundaries of this distant, very distant galaxy that we thought we knew so well.

Released in 2021, the first volume of Star Wars: Visions had been a very pleasant surprise, and had known a public plebiscite as a critic, in particular thanks to its originality and its creativity. This animated anthology thus offered nine independent short films, all with stories, styles and tones never before seen in the universe of the cult saga.

If the first season had a mainly Japanese inspiration, volume 2 will welcome the productions of nine animation studios from nine different countries: El Guiri (Spain), Cartoon Saloon (Ireland), Punkrobot (Chile), Aardman (United Kingdom ), Studio Mir (South Korea), Studio La Cachette (France), 88 Pictures (India), D’art Shtajio (Japan) in collaboration with Lucasfilm Ltd. and Triggerfish (South Africa). Very nice people, since the lot includes the Cartoon Saloon studios, author of the magnificent film The Wolf Peopleand the Aardmann studios, creators of Wallace & Gromit.

Since its acquisition in 2012 by Disney, the saga Star Wars experienced the worst as well as the best. The arrival of the Disney+ streaming platform has made it possible to offer a multitude of new original programs. If we forget the disappointing series Obi-wan Kenobi And The Boba Fett Bookwe can look forward to programs such as Star Wars: Visionswhich brings a fresh and daring look at the world of George Lucas.
