Apple TV +

This is a totally unexpected ranking of the best series of 2021 on AppleTV + which is offered to us at the end of the year. First surprise – and of size – with the presence of Foundation (adapted from the novel Foundation Isaac Asimov) in fourth position only. The science fiction series – presented as the platform’s blockbuster – therefore does not integrate the podium, dominated by The Mosquito Coast, a new adaptation of Paul Theroux’s novel (after the 1986 film directed by Peter Weir).

Less publicized series, such as Physical with Rose Byrne and Acapulco respectively occupy second and third place in this ranking. And we note in fifth position the presence of the Israeli drama Losing Alice, an exciting psychological thriller carried by Ayelet Zurer.

On the cinema side, the documentary The World’s A Little Blurry devoted to singer Billie Eilish sits in first place in the cinema rankings, followed by the films Palmer (a drama which offers Justin Timberlake one of his best roles) and Cherry, which marks Tom Holland’s reunion with directors Joe and Anthony Russo (Avengers: Endgame).
