Cinema has not finished making us vibrate. And the times when the seventh art has been able to target its power with accuracy on its spectators, it is by highlighting the forgotten of society, those that we put on the sidelines, well in spite of themselves. In order to do justice to these poignant characters, we decided to come back to those who particularly touched us. Celebrate the difference, glorify these unjustly marginalized individuals who only ask for love and recognition from others … This is what we will try to do through this selection.

Jeanne, in Jumbo

In Jumbo, at the cinema on July 1, Jeanne is a reserved and somewhat withdrawn young woman. She works as a night watchman in an amusement park and begins to have feelings for one of the rides. The film revolves around this: this singular but so touching love story that puts Joan's character in isolation from the rest of society. The difficulty of being understood, the weight of the judgment of others … It is all these themes that are highlighted in this remarkable feature film directed by Zoé Wittock.

Forest gump

Forest Gump is without a doubt one of the most popular characters in cinema. Tom Hanks thus embodies Forest, main role, which will meet an incredible destiny. However, nothing predicts him to do extraordinary things. Forest has a disability, he is mocked at school being small but growing up, his emancipation will make him experience the most upsetting and inspiring events. A little nugget from the 90s that we never tire of.

Jack

In 1996, Robin Williams played Jack. At first glance, he looks like a 40-year-old man. But Jack is only 10 years old. Her body is aging four times faster than normal. Socially, the little boy is therefore torn between the age he is given and the one he really has, deep inside him. The film Jack is a hymn to tolerance, difference and acceptance of the other. With this film by Francis Ford Coppola, we understand that life is short and that it therefore deserves to be lived to the full.

Captain Fantastic

Captain Fantastic, it’s a family portrait delicately delivered to the screen. A father dedicates his life to ensuring that his six children become extraordinary adults. They live remote in the forest in the northwest of the United States. But if this paradise created for these offspring seems ideal, the discovery of the outside world becomes a necessity for them. Captain Fantastic turns out to be a film about accepting others and their lifestyle, whatever it is.
