Before the launch of Starfield, Bethesda is providing an update with several new information to lay the groundwork for the highly anticipated Xbox exclusive.
Before the release of Forza Motorsport on October 10, 2023, Xbox will be in the spotlight thanks to Starfield. One of the most watched games of this generation and the most anticipated of the year. The space opera is also important for Microsoft, which has so far been very shy in terms of Xbox Series exclusives. To prepare players for its arrival, Bethesda has prepared a very useful infographic to find your way around.
Previously on Starfield…
Starfield will be released on September 1, 2023 exclusively for Xbox Series X|S and PC. Since it is a Microsoft exclusive, it will also be available at launch in the Xbox Game Pass. A game that promises to be ultra generous to the point that a player has already potashed the title to help the community. From the trailers posted by Bethesda and a little imagination, Reddit user asd8dhd created a 44-page document. A book that details the skill system. A colossal job.
For its part, the publisher has drawn up a chronology of the history of Starfield. This allows you to learn more about events prior to the main adventure. It all started in 2050 when humans landed on Mars. Ten years later, in 2100, humanity now lives in space. In 2156, humans sailed to Alpha Centauri (4.37 light years from Earth) to settle there and form the Colonial Union in 2159. The official capital of the Colonial Union, New Atlantis, is as for it erected in 2160.
It wasn’t until 2275 that the group of explorers who travel the galaxy to unearth artifacts, Constellation, was put together by Sebastian Banks with the help of a physicist, a botanist, a specialist in biology and physical or of a wealthy heiress and adventurer. For years, Constellation recruited with a vengeance until the purchase of the L-868 station. The ISS will then be converted to scan “deep space the Iris”. 2330 AD marks the beginning of the Starfield story you will experience.
The whole timeline to get the adventure off to a good start
The above events are obviously not exhaustive. It’s even very far from the case, but here is the Starfield timeline shared by Bethesda. It will help you better understand the universe, the context and the issues before launching this future (great?) Space epic.
The year 2100: humans leave Earth for a new life
- 2050 : first arrival of humans on Mars. From 2100, humanity lives in space
- 2156 : arrival of humans on Alpha Centauri (4.37 light years from Earth)
- 2159 : establishment of the Colonial Union
- 2160 : foundation of New Atlantis which becomes the official capital of the Colonial Union in 2161
- 2167 : colonization of Cheyenne by Solomon Coe who founded his first colony there: Akila City
- 2188 : Coe invites Volii to join Cheyenne in a new alliance, the Liber Astra Confederacy. The latter was officially formed in 2189
- 2194 : The Colonial Union orbits a station called the Clinic around Deepala, in the Narion system. The unaffiliated peoples of the Narion system see this establishment as an attempt by the UC to expand its borders and demand the removal of the station. Following the refusal of the UC, the peoples of Narion ask to join the Liber Astra Confederation which mobilizes to protect the system in 2195
- 2196 : In response to Liber Astra’s mobilization, the UC introduces a fleet into the Narion system, Liber Astra does the same. This is the beginning of Narion’s war
The year 2200: a war that lasts and the creation of a group of explorers
- 2216 : Narion’s war drags on as public opinion deteriorates. In 2216, the Treaty of Narion was signed by the UC and the Liber Astra Confederacy, ending the conflict. The term “Occupied Systems” is formalized in the treaty
- 2221 : The Liber Astra Police is founded as an elite investigative and protective force serving the citizens of the Liber Astra Confederacy
- 2275 : Constellation is formed by Sebastian Banks. Original members include Chloe Bao, accomplished physicist, Aja Mamasa, youngest member of the group and Sebastian’s protege, Darius Andris, botanist and xenoflore specialist, Bernadette Laurent, wealthy heiress and adventurer, Everado Gil, former smuggler, and Kadri Toma, specialist in biology and physics. The Lodge is built in New Atlantis to serve the needs of Constellation members for generations to come.
The year 2300 to 2320: end of the colonial war
- 2305 : Barrett joins Constellation
- 2307 : the Liber Astra Confederation begins to exploit the planet Vesta of the Lunara system
- 2308 : The Colonial Union claims that by establishing a colony in a fourth star system, the Liber Astra Confederacy violates the Treaty of Narion. Diplomatic talks fail, and the UC besieges Vesta, killing all who remained (or were taken there) to defend it. This is the official start of the Colonial War
- 2310 : Constellation discovers its first artifact and stores it in its archives
- 2311 : After several years of conflict, the Colonial War ends with the Battle of Cheyenne in which a fleet of civil and military vessels of the Liber Astra Confederacy shoots down the command vessels of the Colonial Navy using guerrilla tactics
- 2315 : In response to Liber Astra’s use of civilian ships during the Colonial War, the CU decides to found the Vanguard. The latter is a civilian army based on private ships of individuals who have sworn to protect the Colonial Union and its interests. The ultimate reward for this service is obtaining UC citizenship.
- 2319 : Sarah Morgan Becomes UC Navigator Corps’ Youngest Commander, Though It Doesn’t Last
- 2320 : deletion of division. Left to her fate, but still determined to put her training at the service of others, Morgan joins Constellation
The Year 2321 to 2330: The Constellation Group Expands at the Dawn of the Starfield Voyage
- 2321 : Walter Stroud, co-owner of Stroud-Eklund, one of the major craft manufacturers of the Occupied Systems, joins Constellation and becomes its main financial support
- 2322 : Ex-Scarlet Fleet pirate Vladimir Sall joins Constellation
- 2325 : Sarah Morgan becomes the leader of Constellation
- 2325 : the theologian Matteo Khatri joins Constellation
- 2326 : Barrett finds the original artifact in the Constellation archives and recognizes that it is a special object
- 2326 : After months of correspondence with Sarah Morgan, Noel, a talented graduate scientist, is invited to join Constellation
- 2327 : POLA member Sam Coe and his daughter Cora join Constellation
- 2328 : Andreja joins Constellation
- 2328 : Barrett convinces Constellation to buy the L-868 station and turn it into a deep space scanner, nicknamed “the Iris”
- 2330 AD : beginning of Starfield
