The long-awaited feature is in development

The WhatsApp messaging application is preparing a long-awaited feature about the use of one and the same account for two smartphones.

WhatsApp has continued to improve over time and even it is possible to have one and the same account on several devices at the same time since last year, it is currently not possible to share the same account on two smartphones.

A mode to connect on two smartphones at the same time with WhatsApp

But recently the wabetainfo site spotted a new feature in the new beta of WhatsApp on Android phones (version 2.22.15.13). This suggests that the WhatsApp platform is working on an automated method of syncing your chat history across multiple smartphones. This is one of the most requested features on the messaging app. This feature would automatically move your chats when connected to another smartphone. The screenshot below seems to indicate that the process may take a while, probably depending on the volume of your chat history. Like when you transfer your SMS history for example.

Note, however, that this feature has long been available on other messaging applications such as Telegram. The other big new thing to come (officially this time) is to allow WhatsApp to transfer large files without going through a third-party service like WeTransfer. But also the very practical permission to transfer data from an iPhone account to an Android smartphone. So is not life beautiful ?
