Season 1 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power ended with Celebrimbor forging the three legendary Elven rings – Narya, Nenya and Vilya. While Narya is carried by the shipbuilder Círdan and Vilya by Elven King Gil-Galad (and later Elrond), Galadriel is given the Ring Nenya.
Morfydd Clark, Galadriel cast member of the Amazon Prime Video series, has now revealed at a “For Your Consideration” Emmy event that we will see Galadriel become familiar with Nenya in season 2: “It’s very exciting to see how the magic makes its entrance.”
Clark also told US magazine Deadline: “When we finished Season 1 and the rings were forged, we knew it was going to be a huge change for Middle-earth. [Galadriel] will be a part of that change because she has her own ring.” She also said of her character’s development, “She’s trying to see the light in the darkness.”
While we’ve already met Gil-Galad and Elrond in Season 1, the character Círdan hasn’t been introduced yet, but he is slated to make an appearance in Season 2. There are also seven more rings to be forged for the dwarves and nine for the humans – and of course the one ring for Sauron himself.
Season 2 of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” is scheduled to appear on the Prime Video streaming service in 2024. However, due to the current writers’ strike, there should be no delays in the start of the new episodes. “The Rings of Power” works with a little trick so that you don’t have to wait any longer for Season 2.
