The Snapdragon X Elite processor could worry the Apple M3 according to these benchmarks

Performance scores for the Snapdragon X Elite processor optimized for Windows 11 show that the Apple M3 chip could have some concerns. Qualcomm is catching up with its competitor.

Apple offers processors high performance, while offering controlled energy consumption. The recent M3s are also real racing beasts. No wonder Qualcommfamous for its Snapdragon, is also seeking to offer a chip of the same ilk. For this, the manufacturer approached Microsoft in order to develop a powerful processor optimized for Windows 11: the Snapdragon X Elite. He promises a record autonomy on laptops and of course bets on theartificial intelligence, which it would manage 100 times better than its rivals.

On the Geekbench benchmarks site, we find scores concerning a Qualcomm processor called ZH-WXXwhich happens to be the Snapdragon X Elite numbered X1E80100. It is integrated into a computer running Windows 11 in version 24H4 Insider Preview with 32 GB of RAM memory. The chip includes 12 cores total8 on one side and 4 on the other, clocked at 4.01GHz by default. Performance is measured in single-core and in multi-core.

The performance of the Snapdragon X Elite processor optimized for Windows 11 overshadows the Apple M3

There are 5 Snapdragon X Elite reviews on Geekbench at the time of publishing this article. Here we are talking about the one who got the highest scores. In single-core, that is to say on tasks which do not benefit from the presence of other cores, the Qualcomm processor obtains 2,574 points. In multi-core, therefore the combined performance of all the cores during a task that requires several of them, it achieves 12,562 points. This is less than what we observed at the end of last year, but it was a test carried out in extremely optimized conditions, far from the reality of ordinary users.

The Snapdragon X Elite therefore does better than the Apple M1 and M2 chipswhich is not surprising, but less than the Apple M3. On a 16-inch MacBook Pro, the latter’s scores are 3,181 in single-core And 15,620 in multi-core. Qualcomm is not yet at the level of its competitor, but it is getting very close. Especially since the test is carried out on a beta version of Windows 11, by definition more unstable and less well optimized than that used by the majority of people. Real-world scores should therefore be higher.
