Wolfsburg extends long-term with regular employees

Maximilian Arnold will stay with Bundesliga soccer club VfL Wolfsburg for the long term. As the Champions League contender announced, the contract with the 26-year-old was extended early until June 30, 2026. VfL sports director Marcel Schäfer called Arnold "a face of the club", the midfielder is an "idol and role model for many talents in our youngsters".
That Arnold, who has played for Wolfsburg since 2009, is staying is "really good news for VfL Wolfsburg and a great signal for the further development of our team", explained Schäfer.
"It is something very special to be able to play for the same club for so long. I have now spent almost half of my life in Wolfsburg," said Arnold: "I made the step to professional here, I was able to assert myself in the Bundesliga and also started a family. Something like that is not so easy to give back. "
